Bluebell Narrowboat HolidaysOn The Lancaster Canal

On Board

Our boats are moored in  Tewitfield Marina, making them perfectly located to begin your holiday. Tewitfield is  only 6 minutes drive from Junction 35 of the M6 from where you will cruise through the idyllic, peaceful Lancashire countryside offering 41 miles of lock-free cruising.

Both boats are 6ft 10 inches wide and sleep two adults and up to two children.  They have one fixed double bed to the stern and the option for another bed for two (not full size double) to be made up in the saloon for accompanying children.

The boats come with a fully equipped kitchen and bathroom. They have a small but very efficient wood burner. Buoyancy aids are provided.  Diesel, gas and car parking are all included in the price of your holiday – no hidden extra costs.

For more information on our prices and what is included please visit our bookings page.

Holidaying with us on the Lancaster Canal

Our boats have a top speed of around 3mph so unhurried leisure time is the theme whilst aboard. Stock up on all your provisions at the Greenlands Farm shop in Tewitfield . Use your boat as a cruising base to explore the local area and attractions. The local area is ideal for walking, exploring and getting out and about in nature. There are quality water-front pubs in many locations. The towns of Carnforth and Lancaster have all local amenities and mainline railway stations if you fancy journeying further afield.  If you would like to arrive on your holiday by train, please let us know and we can help you arrange transport to the marina. There are more journey details on our location page.

Hire Parties with Special Needs

Those with mobility issues should discuss these with us before completing a booking to ensure you will be able to safely access the boat. The hirer accepts responsibility for the care and safety of all party members. Neither boat is suitable for wheelchair users due to restricted entry access.

Dogs

Well behaved, small to medium sized dogs (up to 15kg) are welcome aboard our boats.  We make no charge for dogs on Cornflower and Bluebell, however an extra charge of £100 will be levied if an unusually thorough clean is needed when pets have stayed aboard.  Please let us know if you intend to bring your dog with you.  You must provide your dogs own bedding and they must be kept off the furniture.

Bluebell Narrowboat Holidays is also governed by smokefree workplace legislation. We could all receive a fine if these laws are not respected. Please take a stroll along the tow path for any necessary cigarette breaks.
